Our Story
A tale of two sisters
We’re Jo-Ann and Cheryl, two sisters who were looking for a new adventure that would complement both our business and creative sides. Our desire to start a new business and share our love of knitting is how The Woolly Brew came to be.

Crafting community connections
Our story is two-fold. First, there are the fond memories spending time with family and friends at the local coffee shop, Snowy Owl Cafe in Brewster, MA. Summers at Snowy’s is always on the list!
There’s also our love of knitting which began years ago, spending time with our grandmother and neighbors, where every stitch came with conversation, laughter, and a sense of belonging. These memories inspired my sister and me to create a space that brings people together in the same way.

Cheryl and Jo-Ann: The perfect blend of skills
Cheryl spent many years as a project manager at IBM, where she learned how to turn ideas into reality through thoughtful planning and organization.
Cheryl is the creative force behind the cafe’s design, carefully crafting a warm, cozy, and hygge-inspired space where everyone feels at home.
Jo-Ann leads the family-owned company founded by her grandfather. As an accountant and financial advisor, Jo-Ann gives The Wooly Brew a strong financial foundation.
As an avid knitter who learned alongside her daughter, Jo-Ann knows that knitting isn't about perfection—it's about enjoying the process, learning new skills, and sharing the experience with others.
It's also a family affair with Jo-Ann's son joining in to help promote and add his personal twist to the business.
